Weight Loss “Tricks” that Work

I know the secret to losing weight and keeping it off!

With a just few minor changes.

At first, these changes may not seem so minor. But once you “train” yourself to live without excesses of fatty additives, you won’t even miss them and when you do eat them you will be able to feel how heavy and fatty they really are.
Here we go!

Salad dressing: If you’re going to dump blue cheese, ranch, or even Italian all over your salad then just eat a burger because you are consuming the same amount of calories and fat. Also, no cheese and croutons!

Instead, reach for lemon juice or balsamic vinegar. And the more fresh (not marinated) veggies the better!

Sandwiches: no cheese or mayo and whole wheat or multigrain bread always.

Drinks: No soda or Diet Coke. When you consume Diet Coke your body thinks it’s taking in calories and activated your digestive system. In turn, when nothing is being digested your body tricks you into being hungry. So it’s not worth it! If you love caffeine, go with coffee with skim milk or tea. If you love your bubbles, try carbonated water like La Croix.

Low fat and fat free foods: the truth is your mind immediately tells you that you can consume more if its “fat free”. If you can keep portions small, go with the full fat variety. If it’s something like cream cheese, save it only for special occasions.

Cereal: Organic, flax, and fiber filled. Fruity Loops are not good for you; I don’t care what the box says. Look for organic, whole grain, and low sugar. If sugar is the first or second ingredient that means it is the first or second most plentiful ingredient in that food. No good!

Sugar Free foods: Have higher calorie or fat content to keep it tasting good! No good!

Low carb diets: High fat is in no way heart healthy. It could knock off a few pounds but it’s not a healthy way to go. Instead use multigrain breads, brown rice, and fiber filled carbs. You feel full because of the fiber and you won’t feel carb-deprived and then binge on a huge bowl of pasta.

Coffee fix: always non-fat milk and keep the mocha, Caramel, etc. to a minimum. Instead a non-fat latte or a coffee with a shot of peppermint and splash of milk will reduce caloric intake by a ton. And no whipped cream! If you want it, then make coffee or espresso at home and spray on whipped cream from the can. Starbucks whipped cream has 12 grams of fat!

If that was a depressing list of food you cannot eat, here is some food that is great to add to your diet right now!

Blueberries: tons of antioxidants and they can help reduce spider veins.

Natural peanut butter: it is higher in fat so it satisfies hunger and can help reduce the desire for sweets.

Oatmeal: great fiber! Plain oatmeal with peanut better warmed is delightful. Berries and bananas make it the best breakfast for your figure, and delicious too!

Sweet fix: I have a sweet tooth so coconut fruit bars are creamy and sweet which helps you fight cravings without throwing off all your good eating.

Snack bars: Cliff nectar bars are nutty, sweet, and low fat. A good way to fend off hunger between meals. Luna Bars are great too!

Any questions? Ask!

Happy living,

Tachi
