I'm getting a massage today and I'm really looking forward to it. I feel like I can't take a vacation this year and it makes me feeled stressed! I feel like I shouldn't take the time off work. But, I can fit a massage into my schedule and my budget.
Does anyone else manage their stress by getting massage?

Massage
In my humble opinion, often vacations/planning can be more stressful than relaxing. Not too long ago, I had a beloved pet die and was trying to find a way to cope with grief and work stress and life in general. My significant other bought me a massage and I walked out feeling like a new woman. A massage is only about YOU - when do we have time focus on that these days? I think it's a great way to manage stress, and if it fits in your budget, regular massages can even help your health (both physically and mentally!). I hope you enjoy it!
Massage
Massages are extremely beneficial to remove toxins and help circulation, and can be a form of mini-vacation, but BE AWARE of the many different forms; most are Swedish, but range from Deep Tissue, Shiatsu, Thai... If I have a masseurs or masseuse that is aggressive with knot removal I become lethargic and toxic for the next two, sometimes three days; not to mention exceedingly sore. Drinking a lot of water and resting following a massage is always advisable to aid in removing toxins and allow your muscles and tissue to recoup; if you can follow with a steam bath even better! I've found the only massage that works for me in removing toxins and actually gives me energy back is Ayurvedic Samvahana. I had an unbelievably wonderful experience in Kauai at TriHealth Ayurvedic Spa, a small secluded house on north shore highway in Kilauea, by non-other than two women originally from Eugene, OR! I have yet to find a place here in Portland that I can get this type of massage however. Which brings me to finding a good masseur/masseuse, someone you like, is so very important and can be difficult. But don’t be intimidated, it’s like finding a good doctor, one you trust and feel comfortable with, try a few out.
Massage
Thats wonderful! A great way to manage stress :) You often don't know how much you need one until you're there..
I am actually a therapist myself, but I didn't realize how important that time for yourself is until I was getting regular massages at massage school. I'm so glad you're making that choice for yourself too, sometimes vacations give us more kinks than relaxation! But they are important too - maybe you can think about your next vacation during your massage :)

Well massage is one of the best ways if not the most common ways of overcoming stress. My Philadelphia chiropractor told me all about it and proved me all about it. I think I've become addicted to my massage therapies.
